 | Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock,
and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he
who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

 | Simply put, God favors those who ask. He holds back nothing from
those who want and earnestly long for what He wants. |

permit the Father to reveal himself in our lives... |

 | To a God-knowing kingdom believer, what does
it matter if all things earthly crash?" Temporal securities are
vulnerable, but spiritual sureties are impregnable. When the flood
tides of human adversity, selfishness, cruelty, hate, malice, and
jealousy beat about the mortal soul, you may rest in the assurance
that there is one inner bastion, the citadel of the spirit, which is
absolutely unassailable; at least this is true of every human being
who has dedicated the keeping of his soul to the indwelling spirit of
the eternal God.

 | Be afraid of nothing. Hating none, giving
love to all, feeling the love of God, seeing his presence in everyone,
and having but one desire - for his constant presence in the temple of
your consciousness - that is the way to live in this world.

 | Let the tremendous joy of knowing the Father
fill you entirely, so that optimism will pervade your reality and
overflow to others in your loving effusion for planetary

 | Every morning is a fresh beginning. Every
day is the world made new. Today is a new day. Today is my world made
new. I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day.
This moment--this day--is as good as any moment in all eternity. I
shall make of this day--each moment of this day--a heaven on earth.
This is my day of opportunity.

 | 1) Imagine for a
moment that you were Bill Gate’s child. How would your life change?
How would you behave daily? Imagine how carefree your life could
become!
2) Now imagine that you’re a child of God. God the creator and
upholder of all that is. You don’t have to imagine this possibility,
it is indeed true. All you have to do is start behaving as a child of
God. Joy and happiness is your birthright, believe it, live it. Your
life can be more carefree than you can imagine. Don’t sell yourself
short.
Do yourself a favor and remind yourself of this life altering truth
everyday.
Post Script: Oh and don’t forget what follows #2 above, if
you’re a child of God then so is everyone else! Love everyone as your
true sibling! |
 | Forgiveness is the key to
happiness: Things may not go as you expected. Plans may fail and
fall through, but whatever expectations that you may have for
yourself or for others, always keep this in mind, that if you
have a forgiving heart, life can be much easier for you; life
can be much simpler for you.
There are many challenges and obstacles that you will find and
having a forgiving heart allows you to overcome these challenges
and obstacles. It is very easy to get frustrated, it is very
easy to condemn and it is very easy to blame others for what is
happening in your life. It is simply an attitude which one takes
when one is frustrated. When you forgive, these frustrations
go away and then you open the opportunity for greater happiness
in your life. Forgiveness is the key to happiness. Forgiving
those around you, especially your loved ones and family members,
will go a long ways towards achieving true happiness. Forgiving
your loved ones will allow you to love them with a deeper love,
a richer love. Forgiving your friends will make them greater
friends. Forgiving your enemies will make them friends and
finally forgiving yourself will allow you to reach the height of
God, for God is forgiveness. He forgives all of His children in
all of His Universes, for He loves you. He does not wish you any
harm or any ill will.
It is in knowing God that you know forgiveness. It is in
becoming like God that you become forgiveness. Be an example for
all of humanity for what forgiveness can be. There is too little
of it, too much anger, too much war and too much blame. There is
not enough forgiveness in this world. Remind yourself always,
that those who surround you, those who care for you, and those
who spend time looking out for you do truly love you, they truly
care for you. Do not hold any ill will towards them; do not hold
resentment towards them. Forgive them as they will one day
forgive you. Love one another as God loves you.

 | On communicating honestly: There
are specific areas of the brain that are designed to be like an
antenna, so to speak. The more fit you are in body and mind—the
more receptive you become. Busyness in everyday living does bog
down the mind with trivialities. Quiet moments every day help to
clear a way for reception from those On High.
Anxiety from daily living takes its toll on body and mind. Many
mortals choose to deal with this by not dealing with it at all.
Some can color over an ugly picture and really believe it is
beautiful. This is damaging to the psyche and stifling growth.
We find that those who dare to communicate their thoughts
honestly have improved health in body and mind.
It is true that most people would appreciate knowing the truth
of your thoughts. There are ways to speak your truth so as not
to invoke negativity or perhaps offense. First of all when
dealing with your fellows you remember the fact that you are all
a part of the same family, not one is more important than
another. Take a moment to look within your heart and mind. Most
likely they will say different things.
When pondering some circumstance, you can view it with your
emotions, but balance it with your intellect. To take a moment
before you speak integrates the heart and mind to find a manner
in which to speak forth your truth as accurately as possible.
Many times your words will have no affect on another, but at the
very least you have released your thoughts that can begin
planting seeds. You are not pent up with emotion or that barrage
of thoughts of ‘I should have.’
Much of mortal anxiety comes from the feelings of being
misunderstood and feeling separate. To speak with honesty is to
allow others to know who you truly are, and the Master always
said, “The more you understand your fellows, the more you love
them.”
To withhold thoughts or words that would help bring healing if
spoken is in itself somewhat of a lie. It is damaging to you and
those you interact with. Speaking the truth need not come from a
place of ego, no, it should be intelligent and with love. When
you are honest with others they have trust in you. They will
surely seek you out.
This week think about those thoughts that should be brought into
reality through your vocabulary. How much is pent up and
damaging to you in body and mind? How open are you to receiving
others truth? Study on the Master’s technique of honesty. Many
times His sayings were apparently harsh, and yet it was the only
way in which He could get His message across.

 | On loyalty, guilt and forgiving:
Today I will touch upon the value of loyalty. Most of you
think of loyalty in terms of political loyalty, geographic
loyalty, religious loyalty, fraternal and sororal loyalty—
loyalty of association with others. Yet at a deeper level, there
is the loyalty of yourself to yourself —not selfishly, not
egoistically, not self-righteously—but carefully and lovingly,
validating yourself, honoring yourself, caring for yourself—
consistently—neither diminishing nor denigrating who you are,
what you are, nor diminishing your capacity through past
actions, thoughts, or words, which are less than you truly are,
but which are normal in a growing situation where you were not
mature yet.
Your guilt soils your loyalty, does not honor who you are, or
adequately or sufficiently receive the forgiveness, which has
been given to you. Guilt says that the forgiveness that you were
given is not real. It says on a deeper level that you are not in
the mindset of your Creator…yet! Loyalty to yourself must come
first. Forgiveness of self must come first! Truly, thoroughly,
perennially, infinitely —that as you awake each day, you awake
to a new day, free of guilt, free of old harmful thoughts that
cycle and recycle in your mind. To be able to say in the
morning, “
That was then; this is now, this is a new day; I am free! I will
honor that forgiveness and not repeat the words, the thoughts,
the actions that caused guilt in the past.” And you can move
ahead freely. And your intention is to do so, to not repeat your
errors. Only then! Only then, can you truly, honestly,
knowingly— in the deepest sense of knowing—forgive others
totally and completely, and hold your relationship loyally as
new each day.
So many of your wonderful loving, caring, intimate, personal,
social relationships are sullied by harboring thoughts of guilt
or resentment. Guilt is about yourself, and resentment is about
others. When you forgive others, truly forgive them; do not
harbor resentment about what they did or what they said. And if
you are unsure of yourself in that, ask your brother or your
sister, whom you have forgiven and say, “I have forgiven you; I
hold no resentment against you anymore, and if you find that I
do, please remind me, for I want to forgive totally, thoroughly,
completely as an act of loyalty of my love for you, my
association and friendship for you, and ultimately for myself!”
Your path to godliness, to becoming not only “ like” God but
“as” God would act—you must thoroughly, totally forgive and not
hold in memory those injuries from others, and must not hold in
consciousness, guilt for the injuries you caused others and
particularly yourself.
This may be a new spin on loyalty, but it is paramount and
pivotal, to your own ascension and the ascension of others. If
you think in terms of humble social esteem, meaning that you
wish for the positive regard and love of others, how much higher
in their esteem will you be if you forgive totally and
thoroughly, as Jesus did? You will become brothers, another
Mother Theresa, a wonderful saint in living flesh. And it is
truly honorable to validate yourself through this means,
acquiring the ascendant attributes of a higher self. Loyalty to
self is truly a humble action, a humble state of existence.
There is not even a “however” about this, for you either honor
yourself in this deep humility so that you can honor others with
equal, grand humility, or you do not. The individual who feigns
this grand humility of loyalty to others, through this grandiose
forgiveness as a charade for self-aggrandizement and
self-embellishment, is easily seen through. And the truly
self-observing individual of higher consciousness sees that in
themselves as well. And only the pernicious maintenance of a
willful ego will allow that to continue.

 | Creating heaven on earth: For
the world can be as bright and cheerful and full of hope and
expectation as you elect or choose to entertain. This would
include those who would live in or within settings or
environments that any of you might consider less than desirable
or full of tension and unwholesome surroundings. It is true that
those who had inhabited, survived and often leapt heads above
others in their transmutation process during the Jewish
holocaust. There are those who, by election of will and their
internal being, were able to overcome and surpass the horrors of
their experience. It is true that such self-election is a
reality and probability, depending upon the way one accepts
their place within that world. In other words, not by your own
election or selection can you place mind over matter, as a
simple decision to overcome such travesty, but by the will of
God, which you will be able to incorporate into your
consciousness, would you be able to overcome such devastation.
This is what it is like and what is involved in making heaven on
earth. It is by choosing to adopt and be open to that spirit
which is inside of you. It is easy to say that it is simply a
matter of will and choosing to incorporate yourself within the
will of God. I can tell you how it works or how simple it is,
but it is up to you to experience if you have not yet
experienced what is involved in choosing to do the will of your
creator. It is simply saying that you choose to be a part of the
will of God as you understand it, and that the goodness and will
for other such beings that you encounter in your experiences
will be those which are best as intended by the creator with you
and through you. In this way you are bound to experience life as
it is meant to be, and not as the absence of such will-making
would demonstrate it to be.
One could say I am making light of or oversimplifying the
realities of your world. I wish to reinforce that it is a matter
of perception, as the will dictates. The will pre-determines
that which is the ultimate product or production that your movie
produces. So I invite you to incorporate the intention and the
script as you, the director, wish to produce with the producer,
and to get yourself a masterpiece, an academy award production
that you can be proud of.
It is simple, but yet takes a lifetime to incorporate and to
produce. But it is the Father’s will to allow each of his
creation to produce with the greatest of ease and beauty as is
possible for each of his creation. So, creators all, blend that
which you know to be true within your inner being and to bring
forth gardens of joy and truth and beauty. Be at one within
yourselves, now and at all times, for the joy and peace and
beauty that exist is here for your understanding and expression
right now.

 | How Jesus lived: Although the average
mortal of Urantia cannot hope to attain the high perfection of
character which Jesus of Nazareth acquired while sojourning in the
flesh, it is altogether possible for every mortal believer to
develop a strong and unified personality along the perfected lines
of the Jesus personality. The unique feature of the Master's
personality was not so much its perfection as its symmetry, its
exquisite and balanced unification. The most effective presentation
of Jesus consists in following the example of the one who said, as
he gestured toward the Master standing before his accusers, "Behold
the man!"
The unfailing kindness of Jesus touched the hearts of men, but his
stalwart strength of character amazed his followers. He was truly
sincere; there was nothing of the hypocrite in him. He was free from
affectation; he was always so refreshingly genuine. He never stooped
to pretense, and he never resorted to shamming. He lived the truth,
even as he taught it. He was the truth. He was constrained to
proclaim saving truth to his generation, even though such sincerity
sometimes caused pain. He was unquestioningly loyal to all truth.
But the Master was so reasonable, so approachable. He was so
practical in all his ministry, while all his plans were
characterized by such sanctified common sense. He was so free from
all freakish, erratic, and eccentric tendencies. He was never
capricious, whimsical, or hysterical. In all his teaching and in
everything he did there was always an exquisite discrimination
associated with an extraordinary sense of propriety. The Son of Man
was always a well-poised personality. Even his enemies maintained a
wholesome respect for him; they even feared his presence. Jesus was
unafraid. He was surcharged with divine enthusiasm, but he never
became fanatical. He was emotionally active but never flighty. He
was imaginative but always practical. He frankly faced the realities
of life, but he was never dull or prosaic. He was courageous but
never reckless; prudent but never cowardly. He was sympathetic but
not sentimental; unique but not eccentric. He was pious but not
sanctimonious. And he was so well-poised because he was so perfectly
unified.
Jesus' originality was un-stifled. He was not bound by tradition or
handicapped by enslavement to narrow conventionality. He spoke with
undoubted confidence and taught with absolute authority. But his
superb originality did not cause him to overlook the gems of truth
in the teachings of his predecessors and contemporaries. And the
most original of his teachings was the emphasis of love and mercy in
the place of fear and sacrifice.
Jesus was very broad in his outlook. He exhorted his followers to
preach the gospel to all peoples. He was free from all
narrow-mindedness. His sympathetic heart embraced all mankind, even
a universe. Always his invitation was, "Whosoever will, let him
come."
Of Jesus it was truly said, "He trusted God." As a man among men he
most sublimely trusted the Father in heaven. He trusted his Father
as a little child trusts his earthly parent. His faith was perfect
but never presumptuous. No matter how cruel nature might appear to
be or how indifferent to man's welfare on earth, Jesus never
faltered in his faith. He was immune to disappointment and
impervious to persecution. He was untouched by apparent failure.
He loved men as brothers, at the same time recognizing how they
differed in innate endowments and acquired qualities. "He went about
doing good."
Jesus was an unusually cheerful person, but he was not a blind and
unreasoning optimist. His constant word of exhortation was, "Be of
good cheer." He could maintain this confident attitude because of
his unswerving trust in God and his unshakable confidence in man. He
was always touchingly considerate of all men because he loved them
and believed in them. Still he was always true to his convictions
and magnificently firm in his devotion to the doing of his Father's
will.
The Master was always generous. He never grew weary of saying, "It
is more blessed to give than to receive." Said he, "Freely you have
received, freely give." And yet, with all of his unbounded
generosity, he was never wasteful or extravagant. He taught that you
must believe to receive salvation. "For every one who seeks shall
receive."
He was candid, but always kind. Said he, "If it were not so, I would
have told you." He was frank, but always friendly. He was outspoken
in his love for the sinner and in his hatred for sin. But throughout
all this amazing frankness he was unerringly fair.
Jesus was consistently cheerful, notwithstanding he sometimes drank
deeply of the cup of human sorrow. He fearlessly faced the realities
of existence, yet was he filled with enthusiasm for the gospel of
the kingdom. But he controlled his enthusiasm; it never controlled
him. He was unreservedly dedicated to "the Father's business." This
divine enthusiasm led his unspiritual brethren to think he was
beside himself, but the on looking universe appraised him as the
model of sanity and the pattern of supreme mortal devotion to the
high standards of spiritual living. And his controlled enthusiasm
was contagious; his associates were constrained to share his divine
optimism.
This man of Galilee was not a man of sorrows; he was a soul of
gladness. Always was he saying, "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad."
But when duty required, he was willing to walk courageously through
the "valley of the shadow of death." He was gladsome but at the same
time humble.
His courage was equaled only by his patience. When pressed to act
prematurely, he would only reply, "My hour has not yet come." He was
never in a hurry; his composure was sublime. But he was often
indignant at evil, intolerant of sin. He was often mightily moved to
resist that which was inimical to the welfare of his children on
earth. But his indignation against sin never led to anger at the
sinner.
His courage was magnificent, but he was never foolhardy. His
watchword was, "Fear not." His bravery was lofty and his courage
often heroic. But his courage was linked with discretion and
controlled by reason. It was courage born of faith, not the
recklessness of blind presumption. He was truly brave but never
audacious.
The Master was a pattern of reverence. The prayer of even his youth
began, "Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name." He was
even respectful of the faulty worship of his fellows. But this did
not deter him from making attacks on religious traditions or
assaulting errors of human belief. He was reverential of true
holiness, and yet he could justly appeal to his fellows, saying,
"Who among you convicts me of sin?"
Jesus was great because he was good, and yet he fraternized with the
little children. He was gentle and unassuming in his personal life,
and yet he was the perfected man of a universe. His associates
called him Master unbidden.
Jesus was the perfectly unified human personality. And today, as in
Galilee, he continues to unify mortal experience and to co-ordinate
human endeavors. He unifies life, ennobles character, and simplifies
experience. He enters the human mind to elevate, transform, and
transfigure it. It is literally true: "If any man has Christ Jesus
within him, he is a new creature; old things are passing away;
behold, all things are becoming new." |
- The Urantia Papers, Page 1101
 | On Loving Anyone: Of health and
sanity man understands much, but of happiness he has truly realized
very little. The highest happiness is indissolubly linked with
spiritual progress. Spiritual growth yields lasting joy, peace which
passes all understanding. In physical life the senses tell of the
existence of things; mind discovers the reality of meanings; but the
spiritual experience reveals to the individual the true values of
life. These high levels of human living are attained in the
supreme love of God and in the unselfish love of man. If you
love your fellow men, you must have discovered their values. Jesus
loved men so much because he placed such a high value upon them.
You can best discover values in your associates by discovering their
motivation. If some one irritates you, causes feelings of
resentment, you should sympathetically seek to discern his
viewpoint, his reasons for such objectionable conduct. If once you
understand your neighbor, you will become tolerant, and this
tolerance will grow into friendship and ripen into love.
In the mind's eye conjure up a picture of one
of your primitive ancestors of cave-dwelling times--a short,
misshapen, filthy, snarling hulk of a man standing, legs spread,
club upraised, breathing hate and animosity as he looks fiercely
just ahead. Such a picture hardly depicts the divine dignity of man.
But allow us to enlarge the picture. In front of this
animated human crouches a saber-toothed tiger. Behind him, a woman
and two children. Immediately you recognize that such a picture
stands for the beginnings of much that is fine and noble in the
human race, but the man is the same in both pictures. Only in the
second sketch you are favored with a widened horizon. You therein
discern the motivation of this evolving mortal. His attitude
becomes praiseworthy because you understand him. If you could only
fathom the motives of your associates, how much better you would
understand them. If you could only know your fellows, you would
eventually fall in love with them.
You cannot truly love your fellows by a mere act of the will. Love
is only born of thoroughgoing understanding of your neighbor's
motives and sentiments. It is not so important to love all men today
as it is that each day you learn to love one more human being. If
each day or each week you achieve an understanding of one more of
your fellows, and if this is the limit of your ability, then you are
certainly socializing and truly spiritualizing your personality.
Love is infectious, and when human devotion is intelligent and wise,
love is more catching than hate. But only genuine and unselfish
love is truly contagious. If each mortal could only become a focus
of dynamic affection, this benign virus of love would soon pervade
the sentimental emotion-stream of humanity to such an extent that
all civilization would be encompassed by love, and that would be the
realization of the brotherhood of man.
- The Urantia Papers, Page 1098 |
 | On Expectations: All of you at
one time or another have been told your expectations are too high.
If you do not succeed, lower your expectations. I would tell you if
it seems as if you are expecting too much your expectations rather
need to be raised. You need to expect more. This is not to
say the expectation of material things, but indeed raise your
expectations into the level of spiritual expectation. Your
expectations can never be too high. |
When you are expecting the outworking of Father's will, expect
the greatest, expect the best. Put your expectations into the
spiritual realm and raise them to your highest ability. Expect
Father's will. Expect goodness, and you can be assured that you will
receive Father's will. Remember only that our Father loves you for
exactly who you are and that He individually guides each one of you.
Keep your highest expectations for yourself alone. Try not to
have high xpectations for others, but by your example show your high
expectations. Let your faith shine before you like a light, and
let others see your expectations bearing fruit. They may then begin
to build upon their own higher and more spiritual expectations.
Expectations on the material level are destined for
disappointment in some manner or another. This is indeed as it
should be, for many, through the crash of their material
expectations, begin to switch them toward the spiritual. When you
expect truth, beauty, goodness, and love you are an avenue of their
release. When your expectations are high in spirit your hopefulness
attracts, your faith shines, and your love emanates from you. Set
for yourself the highest goals of spirituality. Expect that your
highest good will be accomplished according to the will of and with
the help of your Father within. You will be as a lighthouse in the
fog. You will provide guidance by your demeanor alone. The words are
unimportant. The true words come without thought just as in these
transmissions of ours to you. Transmit love, transmit hope, transmit
faith to all who are around you just by being of eternal hope of
saving faith and in Father's perfect love.
Set your expectations at their highest, my dear ones, and allow
them to unfold in your path. Set them only for yourself, and truly
will you be rewarded.

 | On Relationships: I would
like to take this opportunity to expand on certain themes that have
been discussed here tonight. One of these themes is the obvious
imperfect nature of man and the countless mistakes that one makes
during his or her lifetime. What I would like to express to you, is
that it is OK to make mistakes. These are all experiences in your
lives that may or may not make you stronger. It all depends on how
you look at it. It all depends on what you take from it, what lesson
you learn. One must be receptive and open to understand the message
that is coming through. Many times these lessons are overlooked and
yet again the experience is repeated, again and again. Either that,
or it is projected in some other fashion, but in each experience
there is a lesson to learn.
That is the same in each relationship that you experience. Every
person in your life, whether it be a brief experience or a long term
relationship has a purpose and a meaning for you. Nothing is by
accident. It is entirely up to you to derive the meaning from that
relationship. If you do not learn it from that person, you will be
given another opportunity to learn the same lesson. Many times you
may be disappointed with other people. Everyone seems to have high
expectations from their friends or family, but these expectations
only lead you to fall, for when people do not meet your
expectations, you become disappointed or depressed. I am not saying
to lower your expectations, but at least give it leeway. At least
give it a chance, so you can say it is OK if someone does not reach
your expectations, I will forgive them . If you say that enough you
will do away with much of your unhappiness and bitterness.
These lessons you have to learn on your own and they must come
within you. For within is where all the answers lie and from within
is where you project your goodness and kindness. These lessons must
be learned from your experiences in life, from your interactions in
different relations. It is not something to be learned by yourself,
for it is in the friction of the dynamics that you mold your
character and in turn help others.
If you are kindhearted and good you should be set atop a hill so you
may inspire others. So others may see your light and want to be like
you. If you desire to be kindhearted, you must learn to forgive, you
must not judge others and you must not have so many high
expectations of people. The one rule that you must learn is that no
one on this earth is perfect, that you are all learning, growing and
evolving as human beings. One day, yes, you shall be perfect, but
not now, not here. There is so much imperfection on your world that
you cannot put yourself high on any horse and call yourself perfect,
for then you blunder. You must forgive your brothers and sisters for
being imperfect, just as you are imperfect yourself, so others
should forgive you as well. Would you not like others to forgive you
when you make a mistake? I know that you have made many mistakes in
your life and I know many have forgiven you. That is why you must
forgive others when they make mistakes. To learn to forgive is to
learn to find the road to perfection. |

More on Love: I am going to
speak on the subject of love. It is perhaps the most important
subject to address, for it is the best representation to the
human mind of the highest quality that can be used to
describe God, for while any other qualities may be used
to help describe God to limited creatures, many such qualities
becomes far too remote from human conception to be of great
benefit in contributing to your understanding. Love, on the
other hand, by its nature is extremely relatable, because it is
a quality of relationship.
First recognized when discovering love is the emotional quality,
an overwhelming attraction, the preoccupation toward the
adored. This feeling element begins the quest
of the soul for the experience of the love of God. Initially
love attracts one indiscriminately to another being, and this
reaction teaches the personality that love is desirable and that
it is rewarding. There are times when such an application of
love brings heartbreak, for one's sense of worth is overly
invested in another personality's loving response or withdrawal
of that response. While this is an experience of hurt, it does
teach a personality to invest love more wisely and to invest it
on a level less transient. Love, therefore, begins its exposure
to you as a form of inspiration, a level of
feeling, an energizing experience. It is a love that causes one
to feel as if one were floating on the clouds. This love
inspires new behaviors, for admiration entices an individual to
adopt those qualities that are admired to become like the one
that is loved.
Having undergone an experience of love and having encountered
the breaking away of love in the temporal sense, the human mind
begins to question love to determine its merit,
to establish conditions whereupon love may be expressed for
beneficial return and to safeguard of love lost. Thus begins
the development of the philosophy of love, and the result is
illumination in relation to humankind, the level of mind and the
level of thoughts. Soon there develops the
understanding of love unconditioned that is bestowed
upon the good and the bad, the worthy and the unworthy. When
this insight dawns upon the mind one then can love others and
remain free of attachment, an attachment that
often is the reason for heartbreak. Love becomes now an
expressive action rather than a sought-after reaction to the
acceptance of others toward you.
As the development of the concept of love progresses, it becomes
apparent that divine love is bestowed with no
requirement of return of love by any creature. This
understanding stimulates a spiritual inspiration, a rise of the
feelings of worship and adoration of the divine, it causes one's
mind to crave the qualities of the divine, to love with no
thought of return. This process was demonstrated by Jesus, and
his statement, "Follow me" was his request that those who
believed in him live like him as one who knows the love of God
and gives that love to all.
The apex of the experience of love is when love has gone from
inspiration, through illumination, to identity. When you have
drawn so close, become so enmeshed in the divine presence, love
ceases to be an exchange and becomes a possession of your own;
you are a source of love, not just a receiver and transmitter of
love. While it is confirming of the reality of the value of a
personality to receive love, the response of any personality is
to begin to love in response, and it is the
expression of love that the personality finds most
fulfilling, for love received must be trusted, and love
received contains the risk of love withdrawn. But love
expressed is wholly in your control, and you can give
it regardless of condition. While one may wish to absorb love
for the comfort it brings, by radiating love one not
only brings that comfort to all you are engaged with, but it
releases that same comfort in oneself, for your
identification with God, your source of love, is an infinite
supply, never to be withdrawn, forever to be felt as you express
it. Soon the condition of love establishes itself as an
ever-present state of being.

 | What is Love: My topic tonight
is a return to the most fundamental reality. It is once again
another lesson, discussion, of the meaning and purpose of LOVE. As
you are acutely aware, the word love is a multi-dimensional word,
with meanings which vary according to the context of its use. The
English language is not as sophisticated as some other languages on
this planet that have different words for different aspects of love.
I will review just for a moment, with you, three of the meanings of
the word love, which are not my major concerns this evening,
although they are important realities in your lives.
There is the love which denotes affection, strong liking. You say: I
love chocolate and I eat it at every opportunity. You say: I love my
automobile and I love to show it off to my friends. You say: I just
loved that movie and the performance of the actors and so forth.
Strong affection! That which pleases you!
There is the love of another person for their kinship connection.
You love each other as brothers and sisters because you are blood
related. You love your parents and parents love their children
because they are of the same flesh and blood.
And then there is the love of passion, of strong romantic and sexual
attraction, the love of the Hollywood movie, the love at first
sight, which when you think about it, has to be basically a reflex
reaction before you actually know another person. This is the love
which drives the reproduction of the species. It is all a part of
the intention of the
Life Carriers,
to do this intense bonding you often refer to in the concept of two
halves coming together into a whole which is complete. This is the
love of the sexual and romantic attraction.
In all three aspects of love: strong liking, strong affection, the
first; the second family attraction and caring; and third, the
strong romantic sexual attraction, there is a reciprocal
relationship. The partnership between family members is obvious,
doesn't need me to elaborate. Families are essential to the
continuance of civilization and so there is that give and take.
There is the obvious give and take of the erotic romantic
relationship where the two complement each other. And in the first
aspect the word love is probably a poor choice, a better word would
be some other designation that does not use those letters L-O-V-E.
For in that case the relationship is one sided, the object that is
of affectionate value provides some need for the person who desires
it, whether it be the vanity of a beautiful car, the pleasure of the
taste of chocolate or whatever. Here the reciprocation is
non-personal.
The love of which I speak more about is the
fourth meaning. It has been designated in the Greek language
as 'Agape'. It is a different concept, for there is no ingestion of
value from the loved object to the person loving. The love here is
an overflowing, a giving purely for the wish to give, the cherishing
simply because the giver finds that other person to be of great
value in themselves and not in what they can return to the giver.
This is unconditional love; this is love with no selfish component.
This is the love which powers the universe.
Philosophers and theologians have speculated as to why God created
His universe. Some have said God was lonely; others that He needed
other beings to worship Him and to express their appreciation so it
would satisfy His heart of the need to be appreciated. Of course,
these are what you term anthropomorphic notions of motivation. They
think of God as though He were a person of human stature. But even
some of your artists and musicians, playwrights, etc., have caught a
sense of the motivation of the God of Universes. They have
experienced the pure pleasure of creating something beautiful in
itself. They understand the notion that they don't do their art or
music in order to be applauded, to be rewarded, to be paid. At those
moments of high creativity they share the feeling of pure pleasure
in the doing of a beautiful, noble, and unique thing.
We are taught that the
Paradise
Trinity, after creating a perfect universe from eternity, which
reflects their nature in repletion, decided to share creativity with
other personal beings. And so, this time-space universe that you
live in, that we live in, is an opportunity for others to co-create
with God, both themselves and the environment that they live in.
Your reason for being is to become God like and share in His love,
which is expressed in one facet in creativity. It was Gods' desire
to share His creation with other personal beings that He brought
into existence, this universe. (The Trinity did not personally
create this universe. It is the creation of their Sons and
Daughters, the
Creator Sons, and Creator Spirits).
The Trinity decided to share their creative power with others so
that they could experience the joy of co-creation with God, bringing
into existence the perfected status as a result of their long
struggle to control all the factors of the environment which are
chaotic, and all the factors of temperament and character which the
personality desires to unify and bring into cohesive balance.
Love then, is partly expressed in creativity and in the sharing of
creativity. The other part of Love is the desire to serve others, to
do good to other people. It is that urge you feel to help another
person learn and progress, and achieve, and feel good about
themselves; not to do it for them but to assist them when they
desire it in any way that you can; to serve them where they are in
need of service. This desire to share with other people, this desire
to serve other people, and this desire to co-create your self is all
an aspect of love.
You see, within each of you there is a piece of God, a
Fragment
of His pre-personal essence, which seeks to blend with your mind.
The result is a
soul,
which is growing and which will survive death, so that your personal
existence is not limited to this short mortal life. Depending on
your choice, You will continue to go on and on as you grow and
expand and become part of the completion process of all creation in
its personal aspects, as they, in turn, bring under their control
the remaining environment.
Love is the desire to do good to others; and
love is the desire to serve others; and love is the creativity and
co-creativity, which empowers your lives.
Assuming there is a God and assuming there is a universe of meaning,
and not simply accidental causation, assuming there is purpose, then
what is my purpose in life? Or what is THE
purpose of life? Is there a larger purpose that I would like
to become a part of? This is the question that addresses its self in
adolescence. What shall I do with my life? What do I want to become?
What are my goals? You know what answers your culture offers. For
many cultures there aren't a lot of choices. In the primitive
cultures, it is simply to become a good tribal member, to raise a
family, to sustain some sort of living and so forth. But in your
culture you have quite a bit of leeway.
The issue of this question Jesus often addressed in His parables and
stories. He once told a story about a rich farmer, who was very
prosperous, and whose barns were not big enough to hold all his
crops. So he decided to build bigger barns and then he could retire
and enjoy his life and rest on his laurels. In His story, Jesus
said, but that night his soul was required of him, in other words he
died. And what was the outcome of his life? Today we say one who
dies with the most toys wins. It's the same idea. So that's one
answer. The purpose of life is to make money and use it to do what
ever you wish.
But, another answer is the one that Jesus gave, and He said, and I
paraphrase, "Make it your first priority to seek the Will of God and
all these things that you need will come to you naturally, and even
some that you desire". The words in the New Testament rendering are
"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these
thing shall be added to you. For what shall it profit a man to gain
the whole world and lose his own soul?"
Why is it important that we be connected to
love? Because it is love that will guide our values in the
right direction. Jesus did not say to become a monk, to give up all
earthly pleasures, to torture yourself with asceticism, and you will
achieve heaven. Nothing of the sort! Put first the will of God in
your life! The will of God is that that you love Him, love yourself
and everyone else as yourself; that you value the personalities that
you meet; that you realize that people are the most important value
in the world, not things; that your relationships matter the most,
not what you own and possess. That's why love is important. It's the
juice that runs the universe. It is the motivation of God to create
this imperfect universe so that we might have a share in its
perfecting process, so that we might learn to become God like and
reach, eventually, the same perfected state by our own efforts in
partnership with God's indwelling, guiding Spirit.
The two things that I want you to remember is that one of the
aspects of love is your freewill gift of personality, which allows
you to co-create yourself and be part of a society which is
co-creating itself; that is the first thing. The second thing is
that you can let that love flow through you to other people in your
service, and in that flow movement you are feeling God in you. You
are feeling God's feelings of LOVE AND SERVICE. And you do it
because this is the heartbeat of the universe. |

 | Doing God's Will: To be
integrated is to weigh and factor both the human and the divine in
all you do. And this is doing the will of God. Consciously. It is
being mindful of every step of the way. Every decision you make,
every response you give. If it is not in you to remain conscious of
your contact with the divine in all you do, you are resorting to the
able but incomplete perspective of the
seven adjutant mind spirits. Remember that Jesus used to walk
apart from his fellows in conscious communion with his Father,
having in this way the value of the divine perspective. You put
great faith in yourself and in your fellow human beings when you
fail to counsel with Our Father or His ministers in making your way
through the worldly experience. Begin in every transaction. Every
negotiation. Insist upon the divine perspective as well as the human
perspective. Take counsel with the
Father. Take
counsel with his agents. And ask questions. Ask questions until you
have found the core of the question. Ask questions until you have
the answer that resonates with your integrated self. In this way you
have weighed every factor and you have your path clearly laid out
before you. When you walk in faith, and when you act in faith, as
they say: "blind faith"… be not naïve. But be faith-filled.
Insist upon the highest standard, not only for yourself but for your
fellows. For this is how you want your civilization to develop. This
is the foundation of your domestic reality and the reality which
resonates throughout your realm. You are the dimension of divinity
that we have trained and taught, that we continue to nurture and
correct and cultivate, for you now to enter into the arena of your
earth origin and demonstrate the divine nature, through these
encounters with the life existent on
Urantia now … in order to raise
it up and bring it forward into the new epoch toward
light and life.

 | The Meaning of Service: Tonight I
will discuss with you the meaning of service to others. At times it
may seem insignificant the small acts of kindness to your fellow
human beings, it may seem your little acts goes unnoticed. That is
not so, every single act of kindness that you demonstrate towards
your fellow man or woman is recorded down in your Book of Life for
later evaluation by you and others. The importance of serving others
is far greater than just being recorded in your book. It is a form
and method of learning and growing spiritually. It is a form of
knowing God; becoming lesser so that you may become greater. When
you serve another human being you demonstrate an act of kindness
towards that person. Even though you may not know or feel it, the
person receiving your act of kindness may feel extreme gratitude for
such action. Service to others is not common for everyone. Many are
accustomed to receiving payment for these services. That is not the
service of which I speak. The service that I speak of is given to
you freely and unconditionally. It is given when it is not asked for
and when it is asked for. It is given without question.
Service on
Urantia is just the beginning. It is the training ground for
later service that awaits you in your
Morontia
career and into your Spiritual career. To be of service here only
gives you greater responsibility when it comes time for you to be of
service on the
Morontia Worlds. The more practice you get here, the greater the
responsibility will be given you when you arrive on the next world.
There are many who have been of extreme service to this world who
will serve as dignitaries and representatives in the Morontia Realm.
Some are given high honors and high positions in the Morontia
Government. It is only fitting such serviceable people receive such
honor, for their whole lives they have dedicated themselves to the
service of others. Being of service is something that you should be
getting accustomed to. If you are not doing it now, you should
consider being of service.
In the Morontia
Realms you are asked to look after those below you. You are asked to
go back and teach those below you. Most do it with great joy and
pleasure, for it is an honor to go back and serve others. It is an
honor for me to come and serve you, to come and educate you. It is
not a burden but my pleasure to be here. I look forward each time we
meet. It gives pleasure to feel your presence and the energy you
bring to this room. It also gladdens me when I see the majority of
you growing, becoming more spiritual each day. That is what service
is really all about. It is so you can bring something into a
person’s life which they may not have received otherwise. You have
that gift, you have that possibility of giving this service to
another. The service that you give may be what is needed to help
them to become a better person. By planting a seed into a person’s
mind, by your act, by your service or by your example, fruit shall
come forth in their life. From your service they may become an
example to others. Service is about changing people’s lives and in
the process you change your own life for the better. In the process
you grow, you listen and you learn. This growth is not just physical
growth, it is spiritual. It is all inspiring and it helps to
transcend your soul to eternity. That is what service is about. It
takes you into this long process of growing and evolving. It is not
always easy, there are many challenges and obstacles. It is how you
deal with these challenges and obstacles that bring forth true
wisdom. Is wisdom something that is desired? Service is a tool for
that wisdom. Service is the instrument by which you will shape your
soul into a wise and spiritually enlightened being.
You may view service as something that tires you out at times and
you may not have any time for service. Stop and think of how many
people have served you during your life time? How many people have
given up their time to help you out? I know there have been many
people who have been of great service in your lives. Just imagine
how your being of service adds to the brotherhood of man. Imagine
the people who are affected by your wonderful service to them. In
their minds they view you as a wonderful person who took your time
to help them. If service is a tool to shape yourself, then God is
the fire by which your soul is softened in order to be shaped.
When you are thrown into the fire, when your life is in chaos and
there are challenges left and right, this is a great test that you
must pass. This is a great challenge you must bend your will
towards. At times like this it is foolish to think selfishly, it is
foolish to lament over one’s own misery, for it brings you nowhere.
In those times, if nothing else, be of service to others. In your
service you may find the answers you are looking for. |
- Teacher JarEl, 6/16/03
 | Forgive all: Let your hearts be a
well of forgiveness. Forgive those who misunderstand you, who
despitefully use you. Forgive those who take advantage of you, who
steal from you. Forgive those who lie to you and condemn them not
for the Master looks after all his children and knows their inner
hearts. Gradually banish fear as you move forward in your lives.
Remember, the Father’s great over control in all things. |
- Teacher Ham, 6/29/03
 | Be open to life, make
decisions: Most of human life is built upon this precarious
equation of experiential memory to anticipated outcomes. You assess
the situations that you are in about what you have known from the past
and what your desired goals and objectives are. So, in coming into
this new relationship or in any of your opportunities that present
themselves, regardless if it is personal relation or work relationship
or service relationship, be in that place of openness of heart. And
ask to see the truth and beauty begin to emerge from the experience
that you are enjoying. Then, after you have amassed a certain amount
of experience in this opportunity, you will begin a greater
appreciation if this is the experience that is going to nurture your
soul or one that will not bode well for you.
But must be in that place of openness of heart and not assessment at
first, so what is true and what is true and what is real and what is
good has time to blend in your soul, and give you a deeper meaning and
a deeper appreciation of what is actually occurring. If you bring this
dynamic into all the experiences as you live your life, you will find
a new way of living and dealing with your life's situations. This is
the cornerstone of building your soul through life's experiences. So
as you find that openness within your heart, be of the idea that new
meanings and values will emerge if you can be clear and not having any
agenda or expectation and just letting the emergence of the Father's
will create these new associations of reality within you. I am not
suggesting that this will be altogether easy, so in that place of
openness, you may invite me in to help you maintain this posture of
clear reception. In time you will grow more confident of your own
ability to maintain that openness throughout all of your experiences
of daily living. Do not hesitate to invite
me and the
presence of your
Mother into that place within your heart, so that you can be as
clear and receptive to the truth as possible at your particular stage
of development. |
My little ones, you are all growing and this pleases me mightily.
This is all we ask-that you continue to grow; that you continue to
make decisions that stimulate your growth, that move you into new
opportunities for creative expression of the Father's movement and
life essence through you. Each day see yourself less and less on your
own, for you are in reality in a dynamic partnership with the very
Source of all life. Each decision can be a collaborative undertaking
if you are so fortunate as to remember that this partnership is
yours-every moment of every day.
I understand the difficulty of remembering. I know that your intention
is to increasingly use this dynamic partnership in service to your
fellows and for your own soul growth. More and more expand your
moments of stillness into those moments of
the day when you wish to choose, when you are in those experiences
that give you the capacity to do one thing or another. Compose your
thoughts, quiet your mind and ask the Father's thoughts to emerge.
Right or wrong, let yourself move from that place of honest inquiry of
sincere loyalty to letting the Father's will move you into that
decision.
Practice this. You are not to be so concerned about whether this was
the right or wrong decision. That is not the essential lesson of this
evening. All we ask is that you make decisions in conjunction with
your Father
Fragment, and you increasingly come into that place where it would
be unthinkable to do this without your Father. This is all we ask of
you. We are here to guide you and to support you as you move forward
and gain greater enjoyment of living a dynamic and interesting
decision-rich life. Grow strong, grow confident as you make these
decisions, for your capacity to increasingly interact with the Father
is what is expanding your awareness into the beauties of living in the
Spirit; in being with me and being with your Mother. This is the life
of the universe child that we know you are becoming. So as you feel
our love descend upon you this evening, know that the container of
your mind that makes decisions will continually yield new thoughts and
new meanings and new appreciation for how beautiful you are becoming.
- Christ Michael, 4/21/03
 | How to be Wise: Contrary to
the accepted beliefs of many, it is not the person who jumps into the
middle of an argument, or tries to loudly tell others how to live
their lives, who is blessed with great wisdom. The truly wise are
short on advice, and altogether non-judgmental.
The wise know within themselves that valuable experiences have taught
them to be humble, and for them to wait for God to show them the right
directions. A wise person has learned to listen attentively, and talk
sparingly. These are people who draw others toward them, often by some
innate quality that may be hard to define.
To make sensible decisions, and to carry them through, requires a
process of clear reasoning about the opportunity or the problem at
hand, from beginning to end, and before a final decision is reached. A
wise person always finds inner peace - that tranquility of the soul -
and is never anxious to gain fame or fortune, but realizes that God
has not placed them on this earth to tell others their opinions on
anything.
The 'know it all attitude' must wave a red flag of caution for you, in
that the individual who brags is usually the one that you shouldn't
listen to, because their sole aim is to impress others with the
cleverness and wisdom they do not really possess. The wise person
knows it is usually God's will that they say little and remain humble,
which they truly are.
Watch and listen and wait for the Creator to play His hand in whatever
the task to be decided, or the project at hand. It is possible for men
and women to acquire great wisdom in their earthly lifetimes here, and
as you evolve into a more spiritual way of living, you will indeed
pick up much wisdom along the road of mortal hardship and suffering.
Ask Him to help you make your decisions, and learn from His eternal
loving ways.
Go forth you all, with the 'insight of knowing' that He will always
have His input and that you have little to do but be aware of what He
teaches with words of encouragement and kindness. Remember it is
appropriate to only give advice when it is asked for, and for you to
always let the other person steer his or her own craft upon these
turbulent earthly seas.

 | On Joy: Tomas has named "Joy" as our
topic this evening, and it is one of my favorite things. Some of you
have been reading about happiness. And Joy and happiness are awfully
close, in understanding. Our Joy comes as a natural result of being in
harmony and synchronicity with the Love of God, which is the Will of
God, which is the Flow of the Universe. To be in harmony with the
direction of progress; to have a life which has meaning greater than
merely the squandering of moments and the pursuit of temporal
satisfaction; a life whose meaning is focused upon doing the Will of
one's Creator, one's Source, is a life which has the flavor of most
profound Joy and happiness. While all people seek happiness, as you
know, it is, for many, a wearisome and discouraging endeavor, for
their Treasure is not in the right place and their goals are
disrupted, even as Jesus said, by thieves breaking in and stealing,
and by moths that eat the fabric of their commitments. But you are
fortunate, in so many ways, that you have the word of Truth. What does
it matter what a person acquires? What shall one give in exchange for
their Soul? Let your Treasures be in Heaven and there your Heart will
be also.
Yes friends, I don't have to lecture you on these realities, for you
know from your own experience, that if one does seek to do the Will of
God first, that all necessities will be added to them. All their needs
will be met. Not just temporal and earthly needs, but ALL their needs,
throughout Eternity. And so, you do know this Joy. For you have placed
your Treasure - your Highest Value - in seeking to understand God, to
know God and to be like him: Perfect in your Human realm as he is in
his Divine realm. The Universe is a vast educational system. Your text
(The Urantia Book)
gives you much information about this, so it is not surprising, that
we, as your older brothers and sisters, share our information and our
knowledge and our experience with you, so that you also may share your
knowledge, your experience with others. But as Tomas has said, it is
not so much in proselytizing as it is in the overflowing graciousness
of the Spirit which fills your lives that impresses others, that there
is something about you which is very appealing and which they don't
see a lot of. Yes, indeed, you ARE the Light of the world. And your
Lights shines forth for you have chosen to keep it uncovered.
Many, many people, without necessarily voicing these thoughts to
themselves, are seeking for real and authentic happiness. Not the
froth of temporary satisfactions but the deep and abiding, meaningful
Joy and happiness which you have. And so you do well as you share your
time together, for this is a recharging of your spiritual batteries,
it is a confirmation of your Highest Values. It is an important time
to take in, through your connectedness with each other, Spiritual
Energy. But always must we give what we have received. For the Love of
God cannot be contained within us but must flow through us to our
brothers and sisters and then back to the Supreme, as we, through our
service, help co-create His Supreme Reality. Joy, in a sense, is
different than contentment, or rather, how 'happiness' is defined by
Culture. For many people, 'happiness' is a fluctuating experience
depending on circumstances and is not a continuous, underlying
reality. The Joy of which we speak is akin to the Peace of God. It is
a constant underlying bedrock, which supports your emotional
well-being. Sadness is possible at the same time as you have the
bedrock of Joy and Peace. Other emotions can, like the waves on the
ocean, fluctuate and move you up and down -- but underneath is the
solid foundation of Joy and Peace. |
- Teacher Daniel, 02/02/03
 | The Father's Love: The
Universal Father is resident on Paradise at the center of all known
creation. He is the first source for all things and beings. He is the
upholder of an almost infinite creation. He is the maker of all things
seen and unseen. He is the source and the destiny for all that is.
Our Father has also taken up residence in your hearts and within the
realm of the mind. In this he is a true father. You are not orphaned
on a tiny planet alone in the universe but rather, surrounded by an
unseen support system of angels, midwayers, and dozens of orders of
beings who carry out the will of God upon the worlds of time and
space.
But more than this, the Father personally experiences with you your
lives. He is with you through all your decisions, all your experience
acting always to steer the mind toward ever higher spiritual levels of
understanding and integrating this spiritual understanding within your
personalities.
The Father sees every single being in his creation as precious. So
precious that he himself watches over every step and every misstep.
Many philosophers through the ages have postulated a first source that
is remote from his creation. A father is never unfeeling, he is never
remote.
When you as parents experience something with your child - a first
step, a first word - how magical and fulfilling are those moments. The
Father dwelling within you experiences all, every nuance of feeling,
every determined action, every joy and every sorrow. The Father then
experiences an even higher level of oneness with his children than you
as human parents can imagine. But you can imagine that his experience
is full, complete, fulfilling.
Our Father acts and reacts through love. His experience is based in
love. He is love in your experience. The Father is never jealous,
vengeful, punishment seeking, or judgmental. The Father does not act
as a bank account from which you must deposit funds in order to
withdraw them. The Father acts through love. He bestows himself upon
you and as you turn to accept that love you are turning toward all
that is real. The Father asks only that you accept his love and in
doing accept your place in the universe.
It is said that the Father clothes his sons and daughters in the robes
of righteousness and it is true that righteousness is the natural
flowering of the soul when it is fed by the waters of love.
A child does nothing to deserve his status as child. You are created
as sons and daughters of the living God. You have an eternal place in
his world. You are so precious that you will never be lost or
extinguished or forgotten for the Father himself dwells within you
pulling you toward him like an earthly father embracing his child. You
cannot do anything to make yourselves more deserving of this love. You
exist and you are loved. That is all.
You cannot earn a higher place in the Father's love for the Father
loves all his children infinitely, eternally, completely. What you can
grow in is the intelligent recognition of this love, and as you give
love to the Father in return your very capacity for love is enlarged.
A wise child is grateful for the Father's love. And in that love,
there is no requirement on either side for more.
Knowing, as you do, that the Father's spirit dwells within you,
knowing this great miracle exists, you must in turn continually turn
toward him to receive that love, to receive the divine embrace, and to
receive that perfect peace that this knowledge eventually brings.
Imagine the Father's rejoicing when first you turn away from the
pitiful diversions of selfish pursuits and make that first gesture of
turning toward him. Each of you in your lives understands that this
has occurred at some point. There was some time when all the wealth of
the world became as ashes in your hands when you needed God and you
turned to him. I tell you now, that the heavens rejoiced and the
angels sang at that moment even though it may have been a low point in
your lives, it was the high point of the Father's indwelling
experience.
Eventually, you will rejoice in selflessness. The pursuits of self
will be forgotten as the pursuit of greater value, grander morality,
and enduring truth take their place. Rejoice and be glad for the way
will be shown. The Father's voice will speak when you are doubtful and
discouraged.
Be unafraid my children to put on the robes of righteousness, to
change your lives, to become new in all ways as the Father renews you
from within. |

 | The Simple Truth: What I
wish for you to do, in your own time alone and in your own
conversations, raise the level of consciousness to reinforce the
Message that God is Within Each and Every Individual and wants a truly
intimate relationship that guides that person's life, being and
presence. With that, all else becomes moot. Argument, persuasion,
attempts to influence, are all moot because there is no other reality,
no other presence, no other convincing beyond that simple and supreme
truth. |

 | 3 Questions by Leo Tolstoy:
 | When is the best time to do each thing? |
 | Who are the most important people to work with? |
 | What is the most important thing to do at all times? |
Please read this entire story here: http://koapp.narod.ru/english/tales/book6.htm
If you don't have the time to read the long story, here's the short
version:
"Remember that there is only one important time and that is now. The
present moment is the only time over which we have dominion. The most
important person is always the person you are with, who is right
before you, for who knows if you will have dealings with any other
person in the future? The most important pursuit is making the person
standing at your side happy, for
that alone is the pursuit of life."
|
 | Faithfulness and Living with Uncertainty:
All life is a journey of faith. When you see your life from this
perspective alone, you may begin to appreciate that always will the
outcome be unknown, unseen, perhaps unexpected. This is the great
mystery in overcoming the challenges of human living: To view your
life as being the revelation of the unrevealed in time as you gain
experience through daily life. More and more will you appreciate the
joy and freedom in this faith-dynamic as you recollect how it has
impacted your life over the course of your growth. See those
experiences as faith-lures to magnify those qualities that you have
that serve your potential development and personality harmonization.
These times of faith for you will become the greatest undertakings,
and give you great enjoyment as you begin to anticipate living in
uncertain times and dealing with uncertain outcomes.
I say these words to you, very carefully and slowly tonight, because
the human being does not relish living in faith; does not seek to live
in faith at this point in your overall planetary development. You want
to know where you are going. You want to see what lies ahead, and you
want to get there now. My friends, I say to you that this is not the
way of life in the universe. Fullness of faith begins to swell within
you, the more you desire to live with uncertainty and to cherish those
opportunities where you cannot know and do not see where it is that
you are being taken.
Ask yourself this question, "How much do I desire to live in this
way?" Ask yourself this now, and be very honest and sincere, with what
is your response. And you do not need to express this out loud to me.
But I wish you to pay close attention to that which you feel in your
answer - for that is the limitation that you place upon yourself in
your ability to trust. And it diminishes you. It keep you from
becoming all that you can be, and all that you desire to be, and all
that you sense within you can be.
The sense of being full of faith is directly proportional to your
ability and desire to live with uncertainty. The uncertainty colors
your perception by casting this shadow of doubt on your abilities and
propensities to perform the tasks you must, to achieve the goals you
desire.
When you live in faith, you allow that expansion of self to propel you
into new arenas of experience that always add depth and breath and
height to who you are, and to add new weight within your soul. Think
not that the uncertainty is there to harm you, or to make you feel
error-prone, or doubting your abilities. It is there to creatively
enforce and to capture those abilities that you have to make them more
powerful and dynamic within you.
How much beauty of self-expression do you wish to achieve in your
life? If you begin to attach yourself to that idea that you are
becoming only more glorious and magnificent, you will begin to
appreciate that it is because you are a child of a loving, devoted,
tender and affectionate spiritual overseer that allows this to happen.
This is not an aggrandizement of self as it is an aggrandizement of
spirit. And the more you identify with this, the greater you become,
the greater you allow the God within you to blossom and enrich and
ennoble all of your life. Faithfulness creates the way for you to be
that which the Father has planned for you. Why would you settle for
anything less than this? |

 | Correcting
Time and the Teaching Mission: The "Correcting Time" is a
designation, given to an effort by (Christ) Michael, to actively bring
this planet Urantia, the earth you live on, into its rightful
spiritual heritage. This is a tremendous task and undertaking, since
most of the administration and direction of this task takes place in
the unseen world. All of the action for this program takes place here
on the planet in the lives of you mortals who are here today. This is
not the first time that spiritual action has been awarded to this
planet to increase the spiritual dimension of its inhabitants.
Concurrent with the adjudication of Lucifer and the edict from the
Father in Paradise to bring about the progressive spiritualization of
Urantia, Michael has taken it upon himself to more or less be here
personally in Spirit, and with the action of the Melchizedek receivers
resident on your planet, of which there are twelve, headed by
Machiventa, my supervisor, the spiritual administration and
headquarters for Urantia has been established. |
The bringing down to the planet of the text book revelation called
the
Urantia Book, has been the initial stage for the Correcting Time.
First of all, this book was given to this world so that there would be
an accurate account of the spiritual history and destiny of this
world; that members of your society, now and in the future, would have
a reference for the global administration of authority which will
eventually take place on this world. The global brotherhood, and
global religion of the one family of brothers and sisters loving
together in the one family of God.
One of the first things that Michael did, was to establish what was
called a "Teaching Mission". This initially started through contacts
with mortals and celestial beings. When I use the word celestial
beings, I am talking about a large number of personalities under one
heading, basically beings which cannot be seen by mortal sight
contact.
Most of the teachers who have volunteered to come here, not unlike
myself, were at one time mortals from an evolutionary world, who are
now at some part into the ascension program in the universe of
Nebadon. They have volunteered to come to this world and assist
Michael in helping the mortal in-habitants of this world get a grasp
on basic spiritual truths. The plan is to bring this world to the dawn
ages of light and life, and to prepare fertile ground for some point
in the future when a Teacher Son or Michael may again appear in the
flesh on this world. It is rather foolish to bring such a high being
to a world that has no spiritual foundation. So the Teaching Mission
was initiated so that mortals could have contact with spiritual
counterparts; those of us who are a little ahead of you. In a sense,
this is metaphorical in that when you leave this world and go to the
next worlds of ascension, you will notice that those right above you
pass information and teachings to you, and you, in turn, have the
opportunity to pass information and teaching to those right below you.
This is an ongoing process of education throughout the universe of
Nebadon and the Superuniverse of Orvonton. This is the way in which
knowledge is gained and knowledge is earned. Through experience first
hand, through sharing and passing on these experiences to those right
below you. In this context, Urantia is taking part in its rightful
spiritual heritage. It is getting information about spiritual matters
in a way which is non-invasive; the free-will prerogatives of each
mortal are not in violation. You are not coerced to be here or to
listen to us, and definitely not coerced into action.
I would like to talk a little about the goals and purpose of the
Teaching Mission and the Correcting Time. There is a tremendous amount
of work to be accomplished to bring this world to the dawn ages of
light and life. The reason why the metaphor "Correcting Time" is used,
is to designate the fact that basically all social systems on the
planet need some form of correction, modifying, incorporating the good
to benefit the whole; as opposed to the effort of the whole for the
benefit of the few.
We are not here to drastically change anything overnight or in a
designated period of time. We are here to transform this world of
confusion, frustration, bigotry, or racial and religious antagonism
into a world of a kingdom brotherhood with God as the Father, and love
as a way of life. We are here to transform one person at a time. It is
not important for you to feel responsible for changing the world, nor
is any group responsible, but you should begin to discern the
importance of changing yourself.
One of our primary concerns is to teach of the Spirit of God which
lives within all men. How to focus in contact, and how to access this
spirit, which is love, into your daily lives. It is by small acts by a
few, which will eventually create the momentum to encourage dramatic
and swift acts among men. So do not be impatient; that spiritually you
must first crawl to establish a vocabulary and foundation upon which
to build your spiritual life.
Let it be known, on Urantia there is tremendous opportunity for
spiritual service and spiritual growth. I know it is not much
consolation, but there are many of us who are envious of the position
that you mortals are in. Not in that you live on a confused and
backward world, but that there are many, many opportunities and
situations in which to bring the love of the Father to another human
being; to one who is vagrant and wanting of such love; to one who is
spiritually misshapen from lack of love; spiritually vagrant souls
searching for nourishment on this world.
As a person who comes to this group, this Teaching Mission class,
there is no special attachment of any kind to this activity. It is
only hoped that as you begin to access God and begin to see yourself a
little clearer, you begin to access God's love and begin to give it a
little more to others. That you begin to find ways to access the
spirit in others. To see another as your brother and sister, no matter
how they appear, how they act, what their attitudes may be, and even
if they are your enemy. Treat everyone as a child of God, and not to
confront them, but to build a scaffold, a bridge if you will, over
their barriers. A bridge of love, a blanket of love to cover this
whole world. We are not here to tear down. It does no good to tell
someone they are wrong or not correct. There will always be one thing
which a person believes in which you may share something in common. It
is important to find this one thing and develop this aspect of belief
into a relationship with another.
Belief is only as important as you are able to act. You meet a person,
you start talking, you have a disagreement, you argue, and wind up
leaving, and saying things which you don't really mean. They you are
wound up in a very unproductive situation. Rather, from a spiritual
stand point, you meet some-one and you find something that you can
relate to with that person, no matter what it is. In respect and love
you attempt t
